This might sound strange, but I need a big list of dirty words.

When you have a forum or write a filter you need a list of words you don't want on there. I was wondering if anyone knew of a place were I could obtain such a list. It seems that people who care if there are bad words don't use the words and aren't going to sit down and think up a list.
I thought about using the MSN Messenger's no-no list, but I hear it's got entries like "Bill Gates, Chairman of Microsoft." I don't want to have to read it all and fish out the bogus ones.

Thanks

Why not you create a thread in the "General" forum. "Please put any dirty words you can think of". Then you will get a long long list of dirty words.

I think Kev82 has a pretty good idea. Maybe LQ has a list I could borrow. Is there a moderator around?

If LQ does have such a list, and I started a thread in the "General" section like moeminhtun suggested, I'd end up with a bunch of asterisks.

It would be best if I could get three lists. The first would be words that don't have any good devinitions, the second would be words that have alternate definitions, but are usually used in a bad way, and the third would be words that have alternate definitions, but are usually used in a good way.

I've thought about having a website where people would enter their favorite dirty words and make a list, but some joker would probably type in "the," and I'd be in a mess then. Maybe I'll have to find a foul-mouthed, yet trusty individual to be in charge of that.

This thread is getting weird.

I did some googling-around, and came up with only one list. It's multilingual, too. Hope you can use it..

All right. Thanks everyone, I've got a list now, and I didn't have to make it myself.

I might e-mail xbox.com, but I doubt Microsoft wants to share anything.

I'm glad I don't run into problems like these too often.
