sqlplus problem

Hi,

Am trying to run sqlplus

it complains the following

./sqlplus: error while loading shared libraries: libclntsh.so.8.0: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory

though I have added $ORACLE_HOME/lib in my LD_LIBRARY_PATH

Could you please show some pointers ?

Thanks

Previously work successfully?

goto your $ORACLE_HOME/lib
type this command to check whether the file still there.

ls libclntsh*

Is $ORACLE_HOME/lib (or ..lib32) in your PATH variable? It should be.

Do you have ORACLE_SID and TWO_TASK defined? TWO_TASK needs to be "aimed" at the remote SID. Define ORACLE_SID: it should be aimed at the remote SID as well.

If that didn't help please post:
When you do ldd $ORACLE_HOME/bin/sqlplus what is the default path shown for libclntsh?

Think $ORACLE_HOME/bin is there already in PATH since sqlplus starts up, but you're right: it does need to be in there.
