scripts

I am a newbie and asking for help putting together an easy script. I have to log into my work vis SSH. It's fairly lengthy to put in all the different mail, SMTP,LDAP etc port info. I am sure I could write an easy script and tie that script to a launcher icon on my desktop but don't know how to do it. Any help out there?
