Question about drop down menus and Java

I have a quick question.

I have a form with two drop down menu's onn my webpage. How to get the value out of the drop down menu so that I can use it in my java program?

By the way I am not using JSP Technology. I am using Struts and Apache Velocity(basic html code is what is used).

When you submit your html page, all input controls + options are submitted as key-values either as POST or GET (two methods of the form element).
If you have a multi select combo box, you can retrieve an array of values, other wise there is only one value for the name of your select element.
If you submit to an struts action, you can retrieve your values using request.getParameter("name_of_your_html_element").
