Python: X Screen Lock

I want to write a program that will lock screen when it is run and ask for username and password. I want to write it in python. The username and password is stored in my PostgreSql database.

Can anyone help or suggest some important links or some sample scripts to accomplish this task.

Sorry man, I don't know too much about Python/X integration, but I think you're going to need some module programed in C to get the functionality you desire. However, there may be one existing out there already.

Sorry I couldn't be of greater help.
