Perl email validation tld check mx check

I am getting a lot of bounced mail and need to clean my list.

Looking at perl module Email::Valid, there are a few options after the basic address check. I don't really know the difference between them. I just wondered if there was any point doing a tldcheck and a mxcheck. I mean, if I do a mxcheck, will that catch all bad emails that would have been caught by tldcheck? Any advice welcome.

The only way to determine that an address is valid is to attempt to send email. It even says that in the description of Email::Valid. So why aren't you using the bounces to clean your list? One way to tell a spammer is that they keep sending mail to an address that's been bouncing for months.
