java ImageIcon

Dear all,

I would like to ask you if anyone knows if java has any collection of ImageIcons (ex. gif) that can be used for JButtons.
What I basically want to do is to find a collection of images that will be used for making some buttons for opening a file, saving, creating a new project, loading a project, etc...

Thank you.

The Tango Desktop Project has a set of consistent application icons released into the public domain for use. There's also the oxygen icon set released by the KDE project. In my opinion those are the two most notable free licensed icon sets. If you want to see an example of their usage the GNU Image Manipulation Program (GIMP) uses Tango icons and the K Desktop Environment (KDE) uses Oxygen icons. If you need those icons in a different format you can use GIMP to export the images to different formats.
