I'm having trouble in Slackware64 13.37 with OpenOffice.org 3.3.0
and Oracle jre-7u7-linux-x64
with the java.SlackBuild
First off, java.SlackBuild
does not install JRE in /usr/lib64/java/jre
, it installs in /usr/lib64/java
. Well, OK, install jdk-7u7-linux-x64
instead, which does install JRE in /usr/lib64/java/jre
. I'm digging through the SlackBuild to see if I can figure out what to do but haven't gotten there yet.
Problem is that OpenOffice 3.3.0
says, "The folder you selected does not contain a Java runtime environment. Please select a different folder" when I try to add it in the Options pointing it a /usr/lib64/java/jre
I have a Java application that requires a symbolic link for JRE, it's linked to /usr/lib64/java/jre
(from the JDK install) and works fine. That application does not work with OpenJava
, by the way, which is why Oracle Java.
So, problem with the java.SlackBuild
, problem with OpenOffice
not recognizing the JRE runtime.
Is there some other package that needs installing or did I miss some environment settings? The only environment setting I do have that would affect Java is this:
# Set Java text environment
Tiz a puzzlement.
