hidding a DIV

i want to be able to hide <div> tag untill a user clicks a button. but i'm haign trouble on the correct syntax on it.

Code:

<div style='visibility:hidden;'> Here is some text </div>

but that isn't working, does anyone know of a way to hide a <div> tag?

That's the correct syntax and CSS, so it should be working. You might want to check that your markup is validating, as invalid HTML sometimes causes weird CSS interpertation. Failing that, it might be helpful if you could post a link to the problem page.
