EXPORT_SYMBOL (linux)

Hi all,

I'm trying to export a symbol in my linux kernel.

Right now, our current code has:

#ifndef MY_DEBUG
/* don't export any symbols */
EXPORT_NO_SYMBOLS;
#endif /* MY_DEBUG */

Now, I have a function (symbol) that I want to export called 'my_symbol'.

Is it possible to export just 'my_symbol' but still keep everything else not exported??

Hope this makes sense, a little new to this...

not sure if my question is clear.

I have it working now, I added my EXPORT_SYMBOL(my_symbol)...and define SYMTAB...etc..

but I'm confused as to how this all works.

If I do a 'nm' on my kernel library before my changes, I already see my_symbol.
Shouldn't I NOT see my symbol when we have EXPORT_NO_SYMBOLS ?

or am I missing the concept here?
