Equivalents of the getch() from conio.h in curses and ncurses

What is the equivalent of the getch() and gotoxy(column, row) in curses and ncurses ? I've read that the same functionality as conio is implemented in these two files .

Any help appreciated .

Isn't it the same as long as you have ncurses.h included?

I've found this:

http://en.tldp.org/HOWTO/NCURSES-Programming-HOWTO/

take a look under "Input".

Good luck!
