distributed kernel build

I have 2 systems running the same version and patch level of Linux (FC2 to be exact).

Is there any way to build the kernel in a distributed manner, ie: use both systems to simultaneously build the kernel?

My systems are running on slower hardware and a full build takes a few hours, so I'm looking for a way to build the kernel quicker, without procuring and configuring newer (ie faster) hardware.

Any ideas or suggestions?

distcc http://distcc.samba.org/ is the way to go, really easy to use too. Also check out ccache (there is a link from the distcc website)

Thanks korozion, I think that's what I was looking for.

I'll try to get it setup and report back on my results.

Well, I gave the distcc utility a try and it worked great. It cut my build time in half just by adding a second pc to the mix.

Thanks again!
