Detect if a connected HDMI monitor is displaying content
Hi,
I'm working on a system where video output errors should be reported .
The scenarios I'm thinking of are:
1- how to detect a monitor turn off.
2- how to detect if a monitor is reading content from my HDMI input port and not another port.
You may want to look at the command xrandr. From its output, you can grep for your particular device (e.g. HDMI1, VGA1, etc). If that device does not appear in the output, well then it is not connected.

This is a simple way to do it. that doesn't work in all cases.
For example if the device has multi input sources and it is set to anything rather than my HDMI output it will not display my video.
I'm looking for something related to HDMI spec
