C++ Mouse Access in Linux

Here is the Problem.

I use following parameter and functions to get access to the mouse wheel, buttons, and position of the pointer...

MSG
HWND
HANDLE

PeekMessage(...)
TranslateMessage(...);
DispatchMessage(...)
and so on...

It works perfect... but those are win32 specific functions

Now i want to do the same thing in linux.... are the any functions where i can access the data coming in of the PS/2 or Serial Port from the mouse.

Any suggestions would be helpful.
