C++ Book Recommendations
Hey guys, I'm looking for a good extensive C++ book. What I would like is something that covers everything and is fairly short and to the point. I don't really mind reading a lot, it can be 2000 pages as long as it is short and concise in it's explanation of each item. Most books I've looked at the author normally writes it for people who just generally don't know what they're doing and they hold their hand all the way, this bores me. I'd much prefer to just dive right into code and they tell you what it does, maybe some tricks and things you may not notice right away and then moves on.
I don't want to sacrifice information for conciseness though. I was looking at C++ Primer, it's one of the best and most extensive books I could find. My only reason for hesitation is because it's too slow for me as the author seems to drag on and just talk alot. I may end up picking this one up anyways though, I don't mind doing the extra reading, I just feel that I could get more done quicker if I had a less 'holding your hand' type of book. So lemme know if you guys have any good recommendations, I'll probably be getting a couple of different books.
