Backporting GTK+-2 applications to GTK-1.2

I've done work on a few programs which were written to use GTK+2 to get them working with just GTK-1.2. I'm wondering if there's anyone else with any experience at this so we can share tips and methods. So far I've only been able to succesfully backport a few things. Help anyone?
