xgi volari xp5 (Dell Laptop video card) support?

I'm a pretty new linux user, and I'm trying to run Mandrake on a Dell Inspiron 5150. Everything is working fine, except that I can only run in 256 colors on the default VESA graphics card. My dell has an XGI Volari XP5 in it, and I can't find any way to get support on linux. Is there any way to make it work?

Linux does NOT directly support this card as the manufacturer refuses to make the programming specs available.

However Volari does expect to produce drivers themselves in the interim.

Good luck with this because usually this kind of thing tends to be problematic.

Blame Dell/Volari and WRITE THEM to open source their drivers!
