video hardware probe?

I messed up my video display and I dont know my exact video card specifications are, so I was curious if there is some type of "SuperProbe" utility mandrake has to help me find out the chipset memory etc of my card so I can dowload the right drivers, then run XFree86 etc..

any suggestions are much appreciated.

ripping the card out and googling the model number always works too.

Usually when you boot up your computer, the first thing it shows it your graphics card maker and model on the top left corner, then it checks your RAM, press del if you want to go to BIOS setup, blah blahblah.

If you don't know your video card, just set it on generic (VESA) and that will always work.
