I have a simple Mandrake 9.1 file server. It runs great and hasn't been rebooted in like 9 months. I was thinking about upgrading it. Is it worth upgrading or should I just do a full Mandrake 10 reinstall? I am Running Suse 9.1 pro on my desktop. Should I just install Suse on the server too?
I have about 1 year of Linux Experience and I am a titch nOObish. Any advice would be apprecited.
I don't know about Mandrake 9.1, but I upgraded from Mandrake 9.2 to Mandrake 10.0 without any problems. It has the added bonus of leaving all my /etc customizations intact.
The other question is, since the server has been up for 9 months without problems (I'm assuming), why upgrade it? It's working and as long as you're installing the security updates, it should keep working just fine.
