First I got this error when i try to log on MNF 8.2. IE AOL Netscape. Iget this error.

No session found: ***WARNING*** IDENTIFIERS DON\\\T > MATCH (Security flaw?)

So i tried rebooting the firewall and it seemed to work ok for a couple of hrs. But now i cant seem to get squid to stop it start but it dosnt stop. Says failed to stop. Also Im think i might have to clear the cashe but how do i do that if i cant get squid to stop.

how are you trying to stop squid? type in a terminal as root....... service squid stop (enter). that should kill it, if not, try rebooting. if you want to clear the cache out, stop squid, go to /etc/squid/ & delete the cache.log, then restart squid. it will rebuild the log after you restart it.

Squid

I tried using the kill commad to stop it and also restart and stop says it fails to stop. When i reboot it says failed to restart squid. Is it safe to delete the files u told em to even though it says squid has failed to stop???? I really dont understand it was working fine till a couple of weeks ago.

i'm sorry. the path to those files i listed is wrong. you need to go to /var/log/squid. delete the cache.log & store.log files. restart squid.

the commands are............

service squid start

service squid stop

if squid won't stop with the above stop command, check in MCC->system->services. if squid is set to start at boot, turn that off, then reboot, then delete the above files & restart squid.
