I am setting up a Mandriva 2006 box at work & am having trouble getting updates to work. I went into MCC/Media Manager & clicked Proxy. I checked the box next to Proxy hostname & put in http://xxx.xxx.190.173:3128 which is the addressort for our proxy server. I cann conttact the mirror & get a list of updates, but when I pick some & tell it to install, it runs through the download way to fast & then just hangs on the package installation. If I try to install a package using urpmi at the command line such as

urpmi kcalc

I get an error that curled failed, exited with 22 or signal 0

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

With --wget I receive:

...Retrieving failed: WGet failed: exited with 1 or signal 0

when I specified curl with --curl I received:

...Retrieving failed: curl: (22) The requested URL returned error: 403

It seems strange that I can talk to the mirrors to get the list of updates & what dependencies are going to be added when I select a file, but the download fails. I also can browse the internet with the same proxy information.
