Problems with video

HI.
I am running Mandriva Free 2007. I seem to have recently developed some problem with playing video. When playing in full screen mode... the videos are played as if in a slow motion. I was not having this problem until today. i have tried all players (Kmedia player, Mplayer, VLC player, etc), and all seem to be having this prob.

I dont think i have done any thing recently that should have any effect on video. The only update that i made to the system has been installing xmms-wma but that has nothing to do with video playing..

Any suggestions on what might be the case of this problem...
By the way, if i view the videos in small screen, they play fine.

thnx

There may be something running in the background using up resources, have you typed (ps) (man ps) in terminal both as user & root to see who has what running. Also, the .wma is Windows associated and they (Windows compatible programs) can be using same libraries and or altering config files.

So you are saying that it could be possible that xmms-wma 's installation may have messed with some libraries etc due to which now i am having this problem? and i have checked the ps and top, there is no program that is taking too much memory or cpu time. infact the cpu usage is very low.
