Movies are Tinted violet when playing them in MDK10


Hi i have this problem when im playing movies... the movie gets tinted when i view them. and i have tried Mplayer and Totem the same thing on both i have a Nvidia Geforce FX 5600 and Asus P4P800 Mobo

Pleas help.. its getting a little annoying

Hmm just saw that its changed to Blue skin and some other color

If you open the settings in Mplayer there is a tab for video. Select the X11 (Ximage/shm) driver instead of the default XV. That should fix it

okay i tried that and the thing is it did work but the aspect is all fucked up do i have to use some obscure command to make it work??

video card

the problem with the tint is probably your video card, not mandrake 10

This is a known problem, check out the errata page. It say to slide the hue bar to the left.

I am also having this exact problem.
I am running Fedora Core 1 though, not MDK10.

I figured it out because when i installed xfree86 4.4.0 everything is working correctly. But as colnago said... you can slide the hue bar to the left

yeah i just got home from work and tried the hue bar thing... it worked!
i thought i had xfree 4.4 cause i upgraded it a few weeks ago, but i just checked and its 4.3. so is this a problem in xfree or nvidia drivers?

I think its the Nvidia drivers.. but who knows... not me anyway

People at the Dropline Gnome Forum are having the same problem with Slackware after the upgrade that DLG puts on the box. Might want to check it out...
