I've just tried to install MDK 9.2 but ran into a problem.

During install, after entering root PW and adding users I inserted cd3 and got the following message:

"Printer-utils not found"

Only option was to click OK. Having done that for some time I gave up. It seems like the installer was looping !?!

My HW looks like this:

P4 2.6 GHz
512 MB RAM
SIS 648 Chipset based MSI Mainboard
NVidia GeForce4 64 MB
80 GB Seagate HD + 20 GB Samsung HD
Pioneer CD-Rom, Samsung CD-R/W
Realtek LAN

Looks to me as if the rpm-installer still needs some trimming.....(!?!)

Anybody experienced the same or is it just me and my beta computer ????????

I did experience the same but when I booted it up it seemed to be OK.

Now I have done a complete new install and used the F1 option and TEXT
After several tries getting the right selection of programs I got it going fine.
Koncoquer and K-mail not working.
So I went back and installed Mozilla and everything works.
I even see they have K3B for burning ISO's and that is some great software.

Try it and see if by booting it will work.

I had this on the beta 2. If you do not add the printer it will not stall.

I am not sure if it applies to all printers it did find my Epson CX42UX usb printer but then stalled as yours did.

I am now using 9.2 rc1 and it appeared to work OK, but I am using a network printer now so I am not sure if the CX42 works.

It has been fixed in 9.2 rc1, but this has an even worse bug. When you change users it goes to the text login screen.

I have found you can overcome this by logging in and typing startx.

When I loaded RC1 the first time I got the printer loop.(Couldn't get out of loop) So I started again and skipped the printer selection. When I first booted up I had all type of log-out bugs and printer bugs. I then updated the system to latest cooker. Most of he bug are gone now. I setup the printer it work fine now. I'am now using MDK9.2 on my main production machine without a hitch.

I tried again to install in text mode but the exact same thing happened !?!
Also - where can I skip the printer selection ?

Turn off the printer maybe disconnect it. Then load your system and when you get to the summery just ignore the printer setup.
