MDK 10.0 Official printer Issue

My printer doesn't print, which is a bit annoying since it is it's primary function.

The printer installed fine and was properly recognized ML-1710
it's state is: Stopped (accepting job)

How do i start it?

have u tried mandrake control panel ... system....services...cups
make sure that the "at boot" checkbox is checked and restart the service

In services it says Cups is running and on boot is already selected

Should I activate cups-lpd as well?

if you're using KDE, open Kontrol Center->peripherals->printers & check the settings in there. sometimes the MDK settings will conflict with the KDE settings & vice versa.

EDIT: to change printer settings in Kontrol Center, you must first click the "administrator mode" button & supply the password.

i'm using MDK9.2/KDE3.1-3, so maybe they changed/removed it in 3.2. my button is in the lower left corner of the printer configuration panel.

Is there a log where I could see why it's not working?
