Mandriva 2006 won't install -- CRT signal out of range
Currently running Fedora Core 4 on a Pentium 4 CPU. CTX 19 inch flat screen.
Had Mandriva recommended to me in a previous thread since I could not get Mplayer or VLC installations past dependancy issues.
Downloaded Mandrivia 2006 3 CD set and burned my ISOs. I boot off of ISO disk 1, and the CD spins. My screen, however, goes to "signal out of range" -- which I can live with if Mandriva would do something eventually -- but after a while the CD disk 1 stops spinning and I can see and do nothing.
MD5 checksums are okay. These are good burns.
What am I doing wrong? I want to wipe out the Fedora Core 4 install and put the Mandriva there, but I can't do it if the Mandriva installer for disk 1 does nothing and I can't see anything. I wind up taking out the CD and booting up FC4, which boots fine.
Thanks for any advice.
