Ok, I run mandrake 9.2, and recently put the 2.6.2 kernel on from source (with a little help from a friend). My PCMIA card isn't working... (I suppose that is another topic) and in an attempt to fix this, my friend recompiled the kernel with a previously modulized wireless option in the kernel. Since then, my hardwire ethernet has not worked.
When going to manually bring up the ethernet, i noticed both my wireless and my hardwire are set to eth0. I suspect this is part of the problem.
Does anyone have any idea whats going on, any suggestions?
