Mandrake 9.1 X boot manager fails repeatedly
Mandrake 9.1 X-boot manager fails to start on boot and tries to restart again and again. Have to use SysRq commands to reboot (when have default option 5 set in /etc/inittab).
However, when set option 3 as default, and boot into user console, issuing coomand 'startx' starts KDE without any problem.
(Q1) How can I get the Mandrake X-manager to work again, so I can start X at boot, and choose other window managers (Gnome, IceWM, etc)?
(Q2) How can I set the default window manager to start Gnome (or IceWM)when I issue the 'startx' command from a console?
(Q3) How can I bypass Mandrake's X-boot manager and start X window manager chosen in Q2 on boot with option 5 in /etc/inittab?
Any assistance appreciated.
