mandrake 10.0 package installer

Hello All,

I have a weird issue with mandrake 10.0 that I hope someone else can help me with.

First of all, I am a noob. Secondly, I need to install some extra development packages in order to satisfy some dependencies. When I go into system configuration via kde and select the package installer, the install software window comes up but just gives me a busy clock cursor on my mouse. i can't select the packages to install. However, when not logged in as root, i can view the available packages. What gives?

Does anyone have a clue, because I sure don't.

Thanks!!!
dale

Lucky for me, I didn't need to search out each and every rpm - i was able to get the packages installed via the GUI. I don't know what exactly happened, but i was allowed to install this time.

Sorry for the bother!
But thank you.

I've encountered that when switching from Mandrake 9.1 to 10. It seems to be almost solved in the Cooker right now, but of course, the plan is to release 10.1 sometime after this month. If you click when the "busy watch" is slightly left and down, you can make the categories open. The "busy" should stop at that point. Then you can install to your heart's content.
