Freezing and taking a long time are not the same thing.
Freezing is usually a hard (or hardware) problem which the kernel cannot deal with, while "a long time" is usually due to misconfigured or unconfigured software.
e.g.
If you have certain services set to start at boot, which require a running network, but do not have networking properly set up, linux can take a LOOOONG time to boot up.
So specify which is it?
And please don't open multiple threads on the same topic.
