Java / Javascript

How do I get and install the Java binaries so I can get Java applets to run. I'm not too sure if javascript also requires Java. I don't really want to sign up for MandrakeClub to download RPMs. I found Mandrake RPMs at but I'm not too sure what to do with them or which binaries to get.
