Unhappy How to? Run Shell scripts

Hi guy's, it's me with another question.I'm a newbie in Mandrake Linux 10 and I've been enjoined every second of it. But at this moment I need some help, For the last week or so I've being trying to add a bootsplash screen right when Lilo start executing the mandrake OS, you know, the black screen with all those words of all the process been initialize. I want to add the Linux penguin from www.bootsplash.org in the background of that screen. I find out that mandrake has some script files that if you run them it will do all the necessary steps to add the bootsplash. I'm trying to run this shell scripts that are located in this directory;
Quote:
/usr/share/bootsplash/scripts
make-boot splash "nameoftheme"
rewritejpeg "nameofjpeg.jpeg"
switch-themes "nameoftheme"

But my question is, Do I have to be login as a root in the directory where the scripts reside for them to be execute it?, How the script know where to look for for the theme file?
Any suggestions guys are very appreciate it.

You need to edit the script file to put in the filenames and full paths.
You likely need to be root to do the editing and running the script.

Download your splash creen image and put the path to that file in place of "xxxxxxx".

Thumbs up

Thank you RobertP for your suggestion about editing the script file. I did edit the make-booth-splash scriipt file with the name and the path where the bootsplash image is located and it start working.
