How much Hardrive would I need?


How much room would I need to do a avg size install for 9.2, the laptop i'm thinking of has a 30gb but it's my girlfriends and she doesn't wan't to get rid of xp yet. I have 9.2 installed on my box but to be honest don't know how to check hd space.

in Red Hat 9 (should work for Mandrak also), you can check the harddisk space using:
df -h

and add the values from the "Size" column + SWAP size = total Harddrive size.

you can see SWAP size using:
free -m

anyway,
