can't backup Mandrake cause 1871MB vs 1806 allotted

can't backup Mandrake cause 1871MB vs 1806 allotted
When I tried to backup my Mandrake 9.2 system using the backup manager I get a fatal error saying that 1871 MB used vs. 1806 allotted. I can't seem to allot more than this and I'm not sure how to get the MBs down. I last backed up months ago and it went fine.
