Question why madrake 10.0 OS can't find my modem U.S Robotics 56k voice win 1806?

when i am using the Internet connection wizard and i am giving the necessary information about my user name, password and phone number
the result is that the wizard recognize my modem as a win-modem . I am beginner with linux and i don't know what to do . Please include also some instructions about how to connect(further information) because the whole thing seems confusing to me . I might need to install the drivers for the modem but also i don't know where to find it. i heard that i have to settle some things to kpp but i don't know where to find it i don't even know what or where is kpp.

best all
cyborg.

kppp will connect you to the internet.

type

kppp

in a command prompt and it will load the program.

You probably have a winmodem to get a driver go to

Yeah, like jax8 said, you are probably going to need to download drivers for your modem from the internet, because the drivers aren't built into the modules of linux. Another thing thats important too...if your Internet service provider is MSN or AOL, you probably won't be able to connect even with the modem set up. I made that mistake and had to change to earthlink.
