Hello!
Bootdplash not working in the mode of 1600x1200.
Until Use vga = 791, then everything is fine. Resolution of console's 1024x768. But is switching to the vga = 797, the entire loading falls in console with a resolution of 640x480.
I used drakconf.
How can I make so that would be system's boot and console have a resolution of 1600x1200?
boot splash is messy as it needs full kernel support and if wrong resolution is not in initrd you need to build a new one....making sure you rename old one.
2) can I suggest you look at splashy as it does not need so much work
I have resolution 1600x1200 for the desktop.
Bootsplash and console in Mandriva 2008.1 x86_64 used only 1024x768 correctly.
But in OpenSuSE 10.3 x86_X64 use 1600x1200 is right.
This may be getting a bit off topic, but you can build your own boot splash themes in mcc in the Boot section under Boot look'n feel open the Set up boot graphical theme of system icon. Click the Create new theme bar below the Theme list. You will need an image to use as the background for your theme (unless you do not want an image). With this tool you can set up a boot splash for any or all available resolutions (but you must configure one at a time). After you create a new theme, if you do not like what you see when you reboot you can edit a theme in the theme editor / creator by selecting it in the theme name drop down list.
