Use the i586, to gain anything significant with the 64bit version you need to be using at least 4Gb of ram.

but will it hurt my pc perfomance if i use x86_64, or should i try to buy a new memory? To tell the truth i already downloaded and installed the x86_64
version because a friend had it, and i would take weeks for my pc to get the i586 version.

You will see performance gains with the 64-bit over the 32-bit. I have seen it with my own eyes. I have two systems with AMD Athlon processors. One a 32-bit the other a 64-bit. The 32-bit core in the 64-bit processor is the same P rating as the 32-bit processor. Machine to machine the Athlon 64-bit was smoking the Athlon 32-bit. I then loaded both 32 and 64 bit versions of OS's on the Athlon 64-bit and found it to be the case on the same exact machine as well.
