Apache 2.0 server problem

Set up Mdk 9.2 OK and changed document root, FTP and server worked fine.

Then changed the document root again in /etc/httpd/conf/httpd2.conf and could not access server from network after # services restart httpd.
Doc: root changes can be made and can be accessed in konqueror from the server but no network access. FTP still OK.

Message is 'page unavailable' seems like no access is allowed. is it a bug or a simple error.

Any ideas, or should I try to reinstall Apache 2.0 ?

Discovered it does not appear to be an Apache 2.0 problem.

Was using Win 98, browser IE5.5 on remote netwok pc. Changed the browser to Netscape 6.2 on the Win 98 PC and can now access the server pages OK.

Must be that rotten IE browser!

Check the permissions of the directories u're changing to.

Anyway, i would not recommend you to install the Mdk package for apache webserver, download the source tarball and compile it. That lets you change everything from the very first time. Man apache for details.

If i were you i would uninstall the mdk apache package, download apache, php, mysql and ssl tarballs and run the whole proccess properly.

See ya.
