Question A simple question about the MDK 9.2 CD

Hello!

I have received my MDK 9.2 box from MandrakeSoft today. I opened the box and immediately began the installation. Well, I had problems after the installation (this is another thread I began still waiting for a response with a title of, "Cannot get Mandrake 9.2 to load after installation."). When I removed the CD1 from the drive, I couldn't help but notice that it was clear. I could see right through it as if it were glass. Is this how the CDs are supposed to be? During installation, I was never asked to select packages to install or set the security level as the installation guide describes. Could there be a problem with the CD because it's clear or is that how all MDK CDs are? Thanks!

Re: A simple question about the MDK 9.2 CD

czechknight93, in your previous thread (the one where you have the problem) you mentioned you had the Discovery Edition, I never had this version of Mandrake Linux, and i'm going to go out on a limb to say that since it's suppose to be the most user friendly version of Mandrake, there is no option to select the individual packages during a normal install (you may need to install in "expert" mode).

Now, a clear CD Rom? I have never seen that, but now I want one

I found out that the CD is supposed to be clear. It has a painted label on the label side that does not cover the entire CD. In fact, there is a wide stripe through the center of the CD that the label doesn't cover and all of the text on the CD is not covered by the label. That is the part that is clear. When you flip the CD over, you can see the underside of the label as if it were painted on the back of the CD too. It's REALLY cool looking.
