What about Tech forum?

Look over here:
http://cboard.cprogramming.com/

They have tech ( non programming ) forum and general forum. I think it is a good idea if you separate windows questions from general forum. So in general forum there are only "non-constructive" chick chack. And you can ask about BIOS, hosting, web design, windows, and mac in tech forum ( non linux ).

What about that?

I personally don't feel any need for it. All windows questions are fine in General. web designing can go into either, Softwrae or programing. But, if you want to talk about Frontpage and such - general is fine.

This website was designed specifically for Linux OSS and so, all questions regarding windows and other properitary software are fine in General.

Plus, there is not enough traffic for such questions regarding BIOS and all and anyways you can easily find detailed help through Google

Just my two cents...

I think General is fine how it is now. If we had a tech talk type forum, its only going to confuse more members into posting Linux questions there as well, double posting, etc. And if we wanted a Windows forum just named differently, well, we would have already created one probably called Windows.

But we've voted on things like this and feel at this time a separate Windows forum is not likely to fit on a site like this. This site is to help with Linux/*nix and open source related topics, etc, and not Windows as it doesn't fit in here. We don't tell members they can't ask and when they do, place the Windows questions in General as for any other questions that aren't related or fit in any of the other forums, etc.

That's my two cents..
