Newbie: tech idiot saying hello

WARNING: I am a computer idiot

Hi, i'm new to linux. i have redhat 9.0 installed and i'm sort of trial and erroring my way through. so far i've managed to completely screw up my computer and instead of partitioning linux/xp i just have linux running. to avoid throwing my computer out of a window i decided to hold off on trying to do an install/partition again, until my temper has subsided .

I will most likely be posting several questions(some of them may be stupid) so I figure'd I'd say hi to the resident brains and beg for patience in advance. I'm looking for advice good beginner books and/or information sites.

Pleasure to meet everyone and hopefully my inane questions won't drive everyone up the wall.

Pat

You're welcome, there's actually another one that might be of even more help until you get your feet wet, check the Links section (icon on the upper right part of the screen) for the Linux Newbie Adminstration Guide in the Beginners section.

I see your post over in Linux - Newbie about your partition woes, I'll leave that so others can have an opportunity to answer, but I'd like to say this:
Do your best to stay away from Partition Magic, especially with your Linux partitions.
