Goal (my assumption): increase LQ activity/usage (more 'good'
Linux Q&A threads)
Suggestion: survey members who have -never- posted, as to why not.
I think there's an abundance of 'great answer power' on LQ, and that 'good' growth is desirable. Just asking 'why not' might motivate non-posters; 'solutions' could be displayed somehow (TBD), and changes (if any) implemented for future.
Ideas: (details TBD)
a) admin email to 'active' readers who have never posted
(or even non-active; just once and not like an ad-spam email)
b) optional (non-invasive) survey question when signing-up
c) a spot on LQ *guest* webpage for non-members to leave
brief feedback (just multiple-choice*)
The question might be like: "Other than the obvious reasons of: no question/answer/time, do you have any reasons for not posting, which LQ might be able to address?"
It would probably be a multiple-choice* list (evolved from replys), with an 'other' choice, to submit new brief-one-line answers. The small # of the "a) targeted email" surveys could have an 'essay' answer.
This 'assumed' goal is based on businesses surveying customers, to grow. Yes, there's this forum, but posting is more like painstakingly writing a letter, vs. a quick survey of those who don't.
IF this is a valid suggestion, Maybe a few senior members who have volunteer bandwidth, would sift/work thru the survey responses.
Sidenote: one of
my answers would be: that I don't write well, as evidenced by my prior (failed but now WorkInProgress) attempt at posting this idea
