I added it to my user agent in about:config as follows:

"Slackware/Firefox/3.5.2"

The label name is : general.useragent.extra.firefox in about:config

though I dunno what this might do to updates, if anything, IF one updates via auto-update.. Nor if it will remain after an update (I *think* it will)...

@Jeremy: I am running Slackware 12.0 with Firefox that already comes with the distro. It is version 2.0.0.20

Jeebizz, the UA for your post doesn't allow us to detect the OS beyond simply "Linux".

I noticed and wondered about that myself. I'm running 64 bit XP, which is "older" now that almost everything is Vista. But it isn't as old as that flag say it is.

When I ran a browser agent on my blog, I noticed that Slackware always came up with the penguin - I think it's because it's the only (or one of the few) distros that doesn't stick it's id over all the apps. So whereas Debian gives
Code:
Build identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.9.1) Gecko/20090707 Firefox/3.0 (Debian-3.5-1)
as the agent, Slackware just identifies as "Linux". And that's why it doesn't get it's own logo.

You'd have to edit the useragent string in about:config to make it work.

The icon in your future posts should be correct.

By editing the string before hitting submit you can pretend to have a distro farm. If that's the way your mind runs, of course. Not that mine does, oh no

@Jeebizz - about:config, type in useragent to the search box and look for general.useragent.extra.firefoxComment - double click it and set your distro in that changeable box. See my last few posts (and this one) in this thread to see what you can do.

In the interests of science (!!!), I tried to post from Dillo, but that didn't really work. It seems as if Dillo makes a bit of a mess of the formatting anyway, but it won't stay logged in long enough to actually post (I think when you log in and should get redirected, but don't that breaks the 'stay logged in chain' in some way, but I'm only guessing).

Anyway, at this point Dillo doesn't really seem to work, so I'm posting from konqueror, but its taken so long that the 'browser icon' thing is now dead...shame as was looking forward to seeing what icon Dillo got.(And, with konqueror the fonts look a bit clunky, but you do get a spell checker, which my usual browser of choice, Opera, lacks.)
