After a refresh, I composed a "quick reply" that took quite a while to compose, on a page initially loaded more than 12 or 15 hours ago, clicked the post button, and the page refreshed itself without including anything I entered in the textarea as a new reply, and I'm too tired now to remember what I entered. :~(

That happened to me once quite a long time ago, so I don't think it has anything to do with the present Cloudflare problems. It seems that even if you have the remember-me box ticked, there is a limit to the time the system will remember a particular page. Anything that is input after that appears on your screen but doesn't update the page on the server. Nowadays, if I want to reply to a post after any length of time, I refresh the screen first.

Easier said than remembered, whether should/need refresh, or how long ago loaded.

The reason why I always format a post in a text editor first. With code/quote/color/bold tags according to this:
https://bbs.archlinux.org/help.php

Then copy and paste into the forum box.
Then if something spits, I'm not out anything. I simply refresh and paste it again. You can even save your post to file for a while if you like.

Just got one oddly enough from typing One Plus One Equals Two numerically. The odd part is a separate post with just the numerical equation works fine. Only when within other text to I get -

After I opened LQ, got through the security check page, let is sit long enough for security check cookie to expire without clicking any links and then reloaded the page to see fresh posts I get the annoying form resubmission warning from my browser, both firefox and chromium. I believe it is caused by this accursed system.

It's better than it was. I still have to turn javascript on, and prove that I am human, for some post between code tags. At least I can post now. I finally made a little web app for posting to LQ. It reports a made up header and user agent that cloudflare seems to like.

Cloudflare likes this:
Code:

'User-Agent': 'Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 10.0; Win64 x64; rv:109.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/109.0',
'Accept': 'text/html,application/xhtml+xml,'
'image/avif,image/webp,image/apng,'
'application/signed-exchange;v=b3;q=0.9'
'application/xml;q=0.9,*/*;q=0.8',
'Accept-Charset': 'ISO-8859-1,utf-8;q=0.7,*;q=0.3',
'Accept-Language': 'en-US,en;q=0.8',
'Accept-Encoding': 'gzip, deflate, br',
'Content-type': 'application/json'}
'Connection': 'keep-alive'
I can post 95% of the time with that, without proving I am a human.

I didn't think to take a screenshot but I just got hung up saying it couldn't verify the data sent by the site. Wanted to mention. I hit refresh and it went straight in. FWIW Arch Firefox.
Same issue?

Several more problems from Cloudflare. Here's one more post which was blocked:

https://www.linuxquestions.org/quest...-4175723903/#2

There are several others, with shell and Perl scripts or excerpts there of, but I have forgotten to post them.

Perhaps handing out special url's that bypass login hassles (Cloudflare) to long term members or those with sincere intentions. I have noticed even getting the the home page of LQ is a hassle so perhaps a special alternate url handed out privately to legit members? How hard would that be to do?

Here's another one:

https://www.linuxquestions.org/quest...63#post6425163

Apparently it did not like use of the Netcat command in the [code] [/code] segment. The usual work-around did the job but cloudflare should not bock basic shell instructions like it does.

LQ always makes me login twice with my credentials, the second time being the long drawn out Cloudfare shenanigans.

I entered my username and password to LQ, LQ made it out like it was checking my credentials (this was relatively quick) and then went back to square one, i.e. the normal login page then it made me repeat login process again so I entered my username and password ( LQ does this every time), and then I had to wait for Cloudfare for over 15 min or more to get clearance and so I'm posting this:

Ray ID: 7bb196d299519456
https://www.linuxquestions.org/questions/login.php

Its been going on for over perhaps 1-2 years or more for me like this, I just endured it and never said anything about it until now. Can you provide a unique login url for me to bypass Cloudfare?

Do you check the "remember me" box?

Never had any issues here, so wonder why LQ would treat us different?

Your location says Geneva... that surely wouldn't count as a "unsafe" location?

You mean you never encounter Ray ID Cloud Fare checks most of the time?

I use tor. Others have similar issues I am not sure if they use tor though.Never had problems with the site until couple of years ago or so, didn't bother to complain until recently.I was trying to reply to you a few days ago but the never ending Cloudfare delay exhausted me.
