The minority, "Robin Hood" and "crooked cop" don't really fit into this, they're usually both guilty until proven innocent.
Hence, privacy = bad (in majority opinion). In some professions it's achievable, impossible in most.
Living in middle of nowhere with no cell tower is probably most privacy one can get these days.

Due to this problem, yesterday I blocked Cloudfare via my hosts file, but it didn't help. I compose, the security checking screen replaces the input screen, which is ultimately followed by a 100% white, useless viewport. If I'm lucky I can skip back to the input screen to find my input intact, but that must be copied into a whole different browser, which means open one, login, find the thread, etc. before proceeding with "Go Advanced" to see if it needs editing/reediting. https://www.linuxquestions.org/quest...0/#post6410317 is the last instance of a thread where this happened to me.

I wouldn't expect a big cloud host like Cloudflare to be blocked so easily! But I have got into the habit of running ctrl-a ctrl-c on any sizeable post so that at least I don't lose it if there's a glitch.

Blocking them isn't hard - subsequently using any website which has opted to use them is the difficult bit. One can't access a building if they've stopped themself entering the only doorway.


Indeed - that's also good practice in case a site goes down or network cuts out or whatever.

However, I have been hitting the LQ filters more often recently, and it's getting more and more frustrating having to repeatedly figure out what specific fragment of my text the broken and useless filters are objecting to.

Moving forward, please post the RayID when this happens and we'll see what changes we can make to ensure a better experience.

Fix the check for whether a request comes from a registered user, so these filters can be entirely bypassed? Otherwise it's just playing whac-a-mole all the time...

Although, probably at least half of my recent blocks involved "something (something" - i.e. removing the opening parentheses would get past - the closing one seems to make no difference - but it also depended on the text either side; removing the rest of the line either before or after would often get through.

Wouldn't be surprised if it's a flawed "AI" filter that sees a certain quota/combination of SQL keywords or symbols and incorrectly assumes SQL injection.

The new LQ setup is actively blocking all kinds of innocuous sample code. It just blocked another post of mine yet again until I removed the illustrative code sample entirely. That kind of impediment to posting code snippets is not appropriate or acceptable on such a ICT-oriented site as LQ. We need to be able to post sample of shell scripts and other code on occasion.

Please remove the offending javascript from LQ's pages.

If some processing is needed, please move it server side. LQ is in PHP. There are many who could help with that, even if no one is willing to publicly admit knowledge of PHP or past use of PHP.

I second that! I was recently blocked from supplying an answer to a query because the code I wanted to pass on to the OP was deemed unacceptable by some robot or other. It takes the whole point out of LQ.

but my ip changes from time to time does that matter? On occasions all is well a few minutes in, then Cloudfare will kick in and do its thing (block).

The Cloudfare experience is getting to Guantanamo Bay levels, its very disruptive, stressful, just green light all registered long time users. Easy to do since I presume LQ is operated by a crew of tech whizzes.

Registered users have other things to attend to in life, time is our most precious commodity they say, they can't be literally waiting around for hours on end for Cloudfare to do its thing. Why make it the default to use copy and paste because you fear Cloudfare will kick in and block you whilst you reply back?




It does it to me without any innocuous code.
