Smile Friends pic in profile page = ?, even they had pictures

We can upload our profile picture when we are members with >150 posts.

Me and my friend both are uploaded our profile pictures.

But when i open my profile page

my picture = ok | friends list = ? ?

when i open my friends page

his picture =ok | friends list = "my picture missing , ? again "

My question is -- If profile picture is available, then why LQ is showing with ?

Hi, Raju~

Did you refresh the page? I see your profile picture just fine.

EDIT: Nevermind- I misunderstood your question. I see what you mean, now. I'd also like to add another bug to the list... clicking on one of your friends takes me to his profile page where I can, in fact, see his picture. Clicking on the others takes me to your PM list.

Cheers

Yeah... me too, now. Maybe it was a glitch in my browser? Interesting...

The "?" represents the avatar for the member, which LQ does not support. It's possible we could show a scaled down profile pic if available, in the future.

I do not have an avatar associated with my account (the penguin is actually part of the "root" custom title).

I thought that penguin was an avatar for a small reason. i.e. FAQ , we can the information as -- avatar will be displayed in profile page as well as in every post.

But Profile picture will be displayed only in profile page.

These avatars will be displayed as part of the user info in posts, as well as in the public profile.

Profile Pictures are photos members can upload that will display in their public member profile.

If that tux was only root logo, then jeremy can put 2 images for each post
  • root custom logo
  • avatar.
is this right ?

If he ever enables Avatars for LQ, then most likely, yes.

However, per my recollection of previous discussions, I don't see that happening.

And it's worth pointing out that the FAQ page is largely a stock vBulletin FAQ. So although it discusses avatars, we don't use them here.

That explains a lot... I've always wondered why they were mentioned there and on the profile page if they were never to be an option...

Cheers
