My observation is that zirias/baroque has a lot of useful knowledge to share, and should be encouraged to stay with us. If someone is used to the chaos that is usenet, I can see how having to pay attention to moderators could limit one's style, but I have a hunch that this member will be able to adjust.

See, pixellany, I just wrote basically the same in a little lengthy email to jeremy: It's not the fact that moderation is taking place here that bothers me as I understand the need for it in a webforum -- it's the attitude like a) comparing members to dogs (but now I assume the insult behind this was not intended) and b) forgetting that members aren't little children to "discipline" so public reprehension will probably not serve well in convincing anybody.
I guess I'll just wait for jeremy's reply while admitting at least MY last post in this (IMHO still stupid) thread WAS overreacting. You could call it self-fulfilling prophecy if you like...
