Introduction to Linux - A Hands on Guide
This guide was created as an overview of the Linux Operating System, geared toward new users as an exploration tour and getting started guide, with exercises at the end of each chapter.
For more advanced trainees it can be a desktop reference, and a collection of the base knowledge needed to proceed with system and network administration. This book contains many real life examples derived from the author's experience as a Linux system and network administrator, trainer and consultant. They hope these examples will help you to get a better understanding of the Linux system and that you feel encouraged to try out things on your own.

Due to a recent misposting of mine (which seems to have disappeared, oddly ehough ), I have had occasion to consider how much our poor moderators have to put up with by way of attitude, inexperience, and just plain pig-headedness from the general public.
So, I thought I'd take this opportunity to thank them all for the fine job they're doing. LQ is a great place, and I'd hate to think of what it would be like without their efforts!
Good Job, y'all!
I thought I HAD started this in General! Sorry!
I agree, the moderaters here are the best, but I think you will see one of them show up to move this thread to General very shortly, as it isn't "linux" related and probably should have been started there in the first place.
yep. THANKS GUYS! I would buy you all a chocolate bar- but they might get all sticky and gross in the mail.
On that thought- does LQ get random things donated to them? I know from experience that 'charity like' organisations get a lot of wierd stuff donated to them- I know penguin computing and others have donated useful stuff- but what is the wierdest thing donated to LQ, jeremy?
Yup, you mods have been really helpful. And jeremy, you have really created the BEST linux forum on the web.
Are you mods at all overworked (not implying that jeremy's a slave driver )? I am sure I would get really mad at some threads and posts and give really nasty replies if I were a mod .
