New forum..just started a job where I'll gain linux experience

I'm 23 and just started a NOC/ technical support position (my 1st I.T. job). It's not the best pay but I'm a newbie to the field so it really doesn't bug me. My ultimate goal is to be in the security field but I know I need a good amount of I.T. experience before I can get a security job.

I know I was lucky to get my 1st I.T. in a position where I deal with linux and networking.I feel I should take advantage of this linux experience and starting getting some linux certs. I'm hoping to complete the RHCSA and RHCE within the next year, and I apply for a junior linux admin job or maybe a regular linux admin job...what do you think?

Welcome to LQ and best of luck. There are often close ties between Networking and Linux, so that's a good approach. I am myself trying to add Lx Admin and certs to my years of network engineering but I am pursuing LPI certs via Cents.
