Mechanical Engineer Learning to be Systems Engineer
Good morning,
I've moved from New Jersey to Texas to take on a new job in Systems Engineering after graduating with my Bachelors in Mechanical Engineering. However, I didn't know it was computer systems. I was thinking it was going to be more mechanical . . . that was my mistake.
But the world is becoming more and more computer cloud and internet based anyways. I want to learn all I can for my job and for the future and expand my skills. I am COMPLETELY new to Linux. In fact, I'm a MacOX kinda gal, so at least I know Linux and MacOX share the common UNIX ancestor. I'm currently using linuxsurvival.com for practical learning on the spot. But it's a sort of website tutorial that expects certain correct inputs. So I joined this forum so I can ask my questions and maybe get responses from knowledgable people. I like to find all the different ways to do things. And in the land of Mechanical Engineering, there is no "one right way". Of course, syntax must be proper. But just as there are relative paths and absolute paths, I want to try to understand as much as I can.
Thank you!
